This paragliding course is taught intensively and is dedicated to all those people who are clear that they want to become pilots and have the experience and training necessary to carry out takeoffs and landings autonomously.
It consists of different phases:
- Ground Bell Control
In this phase we will learn to follow a general protocol in the preparation of the flight equipment, as well as the importance of how to attach the chair, check the lines and equipment in general. We will learn to lift the glider in our vertical and control the roll and pitch movements that will make us control the glider safely before taking off.
In addition, we will understand the importance of lifting the paraglider facing the wind and we will learn the different inflation techniques of the paraglider, both from the front and from the back, as well as the technical combinations in different conditions, with strong wind, or zero wind.
For the theoretical part, a paragliding initiation book will be delivered, dynamically following the theory of the book with that of the instructor. Normally this phase takes 3 to 4 days depending on the student’s progress.
- Tandem flight with instructor
In this second phase we will start with one or two tandem flights at different stages of learning with the instructor where you will be given the relevant instructions to understand the environment that surrounds us and understand the different landing techniques that we have to do depending on the direction and speed of the wind, when there are obstacles or we have to make a landing in an alternative field, always choosing the best option in advance and safely.
- Autonomous takeoffs
As a last phase, the student will be prepared to make their first takeoffs autonomously and make 3 to 5 flights guided by the instructor through the radio or transmitter.
Additional Information:
The approximate duration of the course will be 7 to 10 days. The school provides all the didactic materials (flight book and transport to the take-off area). All the necessary material, such as paragliding, chairs, helmet, radio stations, etc. The school puts it in all phases of the course. At the end of the course, the student will be given an official certificate, where the school certifies the practices and hours completed in the course.
